A look inside the Eduard Bf 110 Royal Class boxing - acres of plastic and as a bonus a nice quarter scale instrument panel which has been built here by Kent who posted his pics of the finished panel over on britmodeller.com. That's a Cutting Edge decal sheet in the box which I really don't need as there are around eight options on the decal sheet ..
Welcome to my blog! I'm an aircraft enthusiast, ex-Air France ground crew, published aviation author and humble 'kit assembler'. As my friend Mark says, 'I just like models'. I attend a couple of clubs regularly and do try and post here as often as I can. Still on the bench is the new-tool 1:48th Airfix Jaguar GR.1

Airfix Spitfire Mk 1
new tool Spitfire from Airfix features a nicely detailed cockpit. Assembly is fairly straight forward although the locating plugs/holes are far too tight a fit and tend to force the parts apart. Some fettling is required to get the wings on at the wingroot - again a nice tight fit results. Some filler necessary on the wing/fuselage undersurfaces join. Gear legs just plug in. Tyres are nicely weighted too.

new tool Airfix Spitfire Mk 1 and ICM leichte Panzerspähwagen 222
After three weeks of relative inactivity due to a change of job, time to get back to work before the colder weather prevents me from getting anything at all done..
The new Airfix Spitfire looks to be a superb model - a low parts count for the younger modeller (36) and well detailed enough for the afficionado. Couldn't resist picking up enough boxes for all the options on the Southern Expo Hornchurch vs. the Luftwaffe decal sheet
Also opened up the neat ICM 222 today - MMI had a nice 'walkaround' of a restored example in a recent issue used as the backdrop for my pictures

Although this is a Mk VIII cockpit it provides useful detail for the correct grey-green interior colour, the brown of the composite material from which the seat is made and the black leather seat cushion

Euromilitaire 2010 ( and some of the highlights from 2009 )
In the absence of anything new from me I'm sure you'd be interested in taking a look at some of the highlights of the recent Euromilitaire show held in Folkestone, Kent, England over the weekend of 18/19 September. Euromilitaire is the premier show for armour and figure modellers, although the number of competition entries seemed well down this year even if attendance overall was up by some margin. Enjoy the pics and apologies for their quality - as usual the hall was particularly dark with the models being displayed well away from the large bay windows in Folkestone's leading exhibition venue over-looking the English Channel. I'm sure much better pics of these models will be appearing in some magazine or other soon...you can click on them to move in close and/or see the full picture !
And some more of large year's entries which I haven't posted before
