Italeri Bf 109 G-6 flown by the Staffelkapitän of 1./JG 300 (mid-1943) in its 'wave' camo scheme - seen here after another repaint ! Finally got some decals on and finished it off. This machine, which flew 'uncontrolled' 'wilde Sau' nightfighter sorties against British bombers, mounted an Eperspacher whistle on the first exhaust stack - the characteristic sound produced served as a means of identifying the aircraft to the German flak gunners on the ground.
