Built by Brett Green in the current issue of Air Modeller, this is the new tool Airfix Lightning and my kit is going together pretty well. Even at this early stage of the build it is looking pretty impressive. One small problem- I just couldn't get the two fuselage halves to join up at the front - see second image. There's some nice compressor fan detail at the front although not much room for the weight to prevent a tail sitter, so I'll probably end up using the FOD intake cover which is also supplied. I've invested in some "Rub n' Buff" for the jet pipes and intake..
Hello and welcome to my blog!
An aircraft enthusiast and ex-airline dispatcher, my main interests are 72nd scale kits (not exclusively) WW II aviation, F-4 Phantoms, Fokker Triplanes and military history. I try and post regularly and build as many new-tool Airfix kits as possible, such as the 48th Sea Vixen seen here. Lets go!

Airfix Cromwell Mk IV in-box build review 1:76 - updated 18/03
Airfix Cromwell gift set cheap at "The Works" ...comprises two neat sprues and some well-done tracks supplied as single items...and some more work on the stalled Zvezda "my first model" snap-together Panther.
Bovington's Cromwell on "World of tanks - inside the tanks" vid on youtube...
