Zvesda Focke Wulf Fw 190 A-4 1:72nd scale

Some progress on this neat little new tool Fw 190 A-4 in Zvesda's 1:72nd scale clip-together range. Designed to be assembled without glue, these kits literally 'clip together'. The parts break-down is extremely clever; note how the fuselage sides rest on top of the wing, thus eliminating any issues of dihedral or gaps at the wing root. Of course this results in joins where there were no panel lines on the real machine, but should be easy enough to cover up in this scale. The pilot figure and the cockpit are pretty neat for this small scale too. Moulding the MGs and the pitot tube integrally with the upper wing half could cause its own problems, but no breakages so far. You might want to invest in some True Details wheels though, since the kit wheels have the later solid hubs.

  1. Looking very nice.

How good is the panel lines on this?

I've heard people rave about the 1/35th scale Tiger I Zvezda released.
